NUSOJ Condemns Increasing Press Freedom Violations

The National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) is today condemning the increasing violations of press freedom in Somalia as two more journalists were arrested today (Sunday, 29 Oct. 06) in Baidoa, the seat of the transitional federal government, and a journalist was tortured in Bossasso.
The arrest of the two journalists Abdulkadir Barre Moallim and Nur Barre was reportedly ordered by the Governor of Bay region Haji Mohamud Barbar but was arrested at the premises of the Radio by local police led deputy chief of police of the region Hussein Kerow around 13hrs local time.
